Clay Shirky: Gin, Television, and Social Surplus

[Update: the article can now be accessed here]

A very interesting –- and very readable -- article by Clay Shirky.

What do Gin, sitcoms and Wikipedia have to do with ‘cognitive surplus’, and how will the technological leverage we’re giving to that surplus re-shape society? That might all sound fairly speculative, but I think he's got a pretty solid point.
